The practice of extracting oil began with fascination for how varied scents were from location to location and fragrance potential—how plant matter responds to pressure, heat, moisture, and time to shape its aromatic expression. Early experiments were inspired by a belief that extraordinary scents remain undiscovered. Loose oil extraction methods eventually took shape. Many attempts failed, as they must, until an unexpected engineering apprenticeship beckoned when I met a Professional Engineer (PE) while I was sourcing a process-tolerant extraction vessel lid. His inventive liquid-solid separation science expanded my early practice. He revealed the underlying mechanics: why processes succeed or fail, how variables unlock optimal, archival-grade results.

Engineering Foundation
Over four years of working with an engineer enabled me to absorbed the separation science behind oil extraction patents and green-fuel projects. Daily collaboration became masterclass: translating engineering-scale systems into precise visual documentation through osmosis—the logic of equipment, processes, decisions.

Learning to Read Liquid
I was taught me how solids mixed with oils and liquids through densities, solubilities, separation mechanics. I was then able to refine my future extractions as technical botanical expressions.
